Valcambi Suisse CombiBar

Valcambi Suisse has just released a brand new, 1-ounce version of their original, 50-gram-denominated gold CombiBar.

These 1-ounce bars divide into 10, 1/10 ounce units!

Last year we offered the innovative gold 50-gram Valcambi Suisse CombiBar. Commonly referred to as the 'chocolate bar,' this original CombiBar is a credit card-sized bullion bar that divides into fifty individual 1-gram pieces, with no metal loss. It quickly became a favorite with our clients.

The new 1-ounce CombiBar is a more standard size. It is more portable and affordable than the original 50-gram bar. Because it separates into 10, 1/10-ounce pieces (rather than 50, 1-gram pieces), it is easier to value and trade.

Many of you are already familiar with 1/10-ounce fractional gold coins, like the American Eagle and the Canadian Maple Leaf.

Currently, the 1-ounce gold CombiBars are priced less than buying 10 of those 1/10-ounce coins.

CombiBars are all the rage in Europe, where they were first produced in 2011 by prestigious Swiss bullion manufacturer Valcambi. It seems many Europeans, faced with a looming currency crisis, high inflation and monetary uncertainty, are choosing gold in a portable and barterable form.
