Record Breaking Demand for Gold

The world’s most popular bullion coin shows no sign of slowing down. Gold and silver American Eagles have been in high demand with record breaking sales the past two years. According to the U.S. Mint’s bullion mintage figures, gold Eagles have already surpassed 2015 sales figures which makes it the third consecutive year of record breaking numbers. As of November 2016, over 1 million ounces of gold Eagle bullion coins were produced by the U.S. Mint (1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz included in these figures).

For silver, 37.8 million ounces of silver Eagles were sold as of November 2016 compared to 44.7 million ounces of silver from November 2015. Silver sales gradually slowed around July 2016 as the spot price of silver topped at $20.32 per ounce. However, the silver price has stayed below that level since September, providing you an advantage with a low silver price.
